Starting January 1, 2026, U.S. citizens will be able to enter Uzbekistan without a visa for up to 30 days. The corresponding decree was signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on November 3, UzA reported.
According to the document, the new measure is aimed at creating favorable conditions for further development of trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties between the two countries, as well as for expanding tourism exchange.
Since 2021, Uzbekistan has already had a visa-free regime for U.S. citizens aged 55 and older entering the country for tourism for up to 30 days.
Plans to introduce a full visa-free regime for all U.S. citizens were previously mentioned in the presidential decree of May 15, which addressed increasing the flow of tourists to Uzbekistan. The same document instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to begin negotiations with the United States on easing visa requirements for Uzbek citizens traveling to the U.S.
