Who is behind Yep.uz

My name is Marina Leonidovna Kozlova. I am a journalist, blogger, and educator based in Tashkent. Yep.uz is my personal project, to which I devote all my time and the professional experience I’ve gained over decades. Every piece of content — from idea to publication — is created by me personally, with attention to detail and respect for the reader.

I began my career in traditional media and then spent more than 30 years working as a freelance correspondent for major international outlets such as United Press International (UPI), World Politics Review, EurasiaNet, Transitions Online, The Associated Press, and others. I have interviewed world leaders, spoken at international conferences including Harvard, and written for audiences in the U.S., Europe, and Central Asia.

In addition to journalism, I have taught at universities, led the Suhbat book club in Tashkent, created the first part of a unique self-study course in Uzbek, recorded an educational video course, and manage several online platforms — including a Telegram channel and YouTube channels. I also regularly serve as an expert contributor for Radio Ozodlik and the TV channel Nastoyashchee Vremya (Current Time).

About the site Yep.uz

Yep.uz has been online since January 2018. It is my personal project focused on Uzbekistan and the wider region. I independently produce and publish original content — from the initial concept to layout and publication.

What is published

The site features:

  • analytical articles
  • interviews
  • news
  • reviews
  • reports
  • observations
  • notes on language, culture, travel, food, and much more

Special attention is given to Uzbekistan — as a country, a society, and a cultural space. International topics relevant to the region are also covered.

The website is currently published in three languages: Uzbek, Russian, and English.

Editorial approach

Yep.uz was created as a space for independent, thoughtful, and meaningful journalism.
No clickbait, no fake news, no propaganda. No artificial traffic or manipulation. Everything is based on personal observations, expert knowledge, verified sources, and respect for the audience.

Every article is the result of a professional approach, ethical standards, and attention to detail.

Language resources

Yep.uz includes dedicated sections for learning:

  • Uzbek
  • English
  • Russian

The materials are tailored to the real needs of learners and are based on my teaching experience. This is not a retelling of textbooks, but a living method — with exercises, adaptations, and language practice.

Audience and reach

The site is read by tens of thousands of people — it receives between 30,000 and 50,000 unique visitors per month, and up to half a million per year. Some individual articles receive hundreds of thousands of views. This is not paid traffic; the data is verified by Google Analytics.

The core audience consists of thoughtful, educated readers interested in current affairs and culture. I always welcome feedback and value communication with my readers.

The Yep.uz audience values accuracy, context, and respect for words. They are people from Uzbekistan and beyond who are interested in the society, culture, and languages of the region.

Opportunities for collaboration

If you would like to feature your company, project, or event on the site, or propose a partnership — feel free to get in touch. I am open to:

  • publishing press releases, news, and interviews
  • participating in events and covering them
  • placing links, posts, banners, and videos
  • creating native advertising and educational content
  • organizing quizzes, polls, and other forms of interactive media

Each partnership is discussed individually — with attention to the site’s values and audience interests. My terms are simple, honest, and transparent. I do not publish questionable or fake content — only what makes sense and inspires trust.
