Practical tips from the author

Even in countries with visa-free access, travelers may be asked to provide the following at the border:

  • Return or onward ticket: Proof of departure to a third country or return home is often required, even if no visa is needed.
  • Proof of financial means: Many countries require evidence of sufficient funds for the entire stay.
  • Hotel booking or accommodation address: Documentation of where you will stay — either a hotel reservation or an invitation from hosts — is almost always recommended.

Additional important notes:

  • Visa policies can change at any time, especially in response to political developments, epidemics, or other emergencies — and entry requirements may be updated immediately.
  • Before each trip, travelers should check the latest visa requirements on official embassy, airline, or consular websites, as the situation may change rapidly.
