President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on April 15 received a delegation of the Russian Federation led by First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration of Russia Sergey Kiriyenko. During the meeting, the sides reviewed the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level and further deepening of strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan said.
At the beginning of the talks, the Russian side conveyed greetings to the head of state from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The parties discussed the current dynamics of cooperation. According to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan, “intensive contacts in all areas,” growth in trade turnover, implementation of industrial cooperation projects, and expansion of cultural and humanitarian exchange were noted.
Particular attention was paid to the project for the construction of the first integrated nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan and cooperation in the field of peaceful nuclear energy. Joint initiatives in digital technologies were also discussed.
“Agreements were reached to intensify cooperation in the areas of digital technologies, youth and information policy, development of mass media and civic initiatives,” the presidential press service said.
