President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a working visit to Washington on February 17–19 at the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump to take part in the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace. The press service of the Uzbek president reported.
The first summit of the Board will be held at the United States Institute of Peace and will focus on reconstruction and humanitarian assistance for the Gaza Strip, as well as ensuring peace and stability in the region.
As part of the visit’s program, Mirziyoyev is expected to participate in a presentation of strategic projects and in a ceremony for signing bilateral economic documents. Heads of leading American companies and financial institutions are also expected to attend.
The Board of Peace was established at the initiative of Donald Trump. Uzbekistan joined it as a founding state in January this year during meetings in Davos, Switzerland.
