By Presidential Decree No. 506/2025 dated July 21, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Mykola Doroshenko from the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
“Dismiss DOROSHENKO Mykola Petrovych from the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Uzbekistan,” — states the document published on the official website of the Head of State.

Mykola Doroshenko had served in this position since 2020.
In March 2022, shortly after the beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine, Doroshenko gave an interview to Marina Kozlova for the website Yep.uz. In it, the ambassador emphasized:
“What is happening in Ukraine today? It is a war aimed at destroying Ukrainian citizens, a war intended to impose the so-called “Russian world,” which no one in Ukraine is waiting for.”
The interview became one of Ukraine’s first diplomatic statements addressed to a wide Uzbek audience in the early days of the invasion.
