Uzbekistan and Ukraine foreign ministers meet on UNGA sidelines

Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha held talks in New York on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Saidov, the ministers discussed bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, education, and cultural exchange, as well as multilateral engagement within international organizations.

Saidov said the meeting reaffirmed the “mutual commitment of Uzbekistan and Ukraine to deepen dialogue, strengthen partnership, and explore new opportunities that will benefit our peoples.”

Sybiha, in a statement following the talks, noted that the two sides agreed to resume political dialogue and expand both bilateral and multilateral cooperation. “Ukraine is committed to developing relations with Uzbekistan and strengthening ties with Central Asia,” he said.
