New business aviation airport at Tashkent-East completed in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan has completed the construction of a new business aviation airport based on the Tashkent-East airfield, authorities said.

Work on the facility began in 2017 and was finished in 2025. The airport covers 561 hectares, with a fully reconstructed 4-kilometer runway and three taxiways, enabling it to handle heavy aircraft. An apron for 20 planes has been built, along with hangars for Boeing 787, A320, business jets and helicopters.

The complex includes VIP and CIP terminals, with the CIP terminal capable of serving 100 passengers per hour. Shops and dining areas are also available.

The airport is equipped with ICAO Category III-A radio navigation and meteorological systems, allowing takeoffs and landings in adverse weather conditions.

Officials said the new facility will serve as a transport hub for the capital and New Tashkent, support international visits and business travel, and expand opportunities for investors.

On August 27, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the airport and said it would help ease congestion at Tashkent International Airport, where a new complex is also planned.

“After long preparations, we have built a new airport that will provide a high level of service for the guests of our country. This will help ease the load on Tashkent International Airport. A large complex is also planned to be built for it in another location,” Mirziyoyev said.
