In Fergana region, the head of one of the border customs posts abused his official position by demanding $5,000 and one “iPhone-16 Pro” device from a citizen in exchange for assistance in illegally moving 80 “iPhone-16” mobile phones, brought from Kyrgyzstan, through the border-customs post without proper clearance.

During a special operation conducted by the State Security Service (SSS), the customs lieutenant colonel was caught red-handed at the moment of receiving the bribe and valuables.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against the official under Article 210 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (bribe-taking), and he has been placed under pre-trial detention.
