Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has reinstated the position of Head of the Presidential Administration. According to the decree, his eldest daughter, Saida Shavkatovna Mirziyoyeva, has been appointed to this key role.

The appointment of 40-year-old politician and public figure Saida Mirziyoyeva was confirmed by presidential spokesperson Sherzod Asadov. Since August 2023, she had served as an assistant to the president, and prior to that, since November 2022, she led the communications and information policy department within the Presidential Administration.

This department was under the oversight of Komil Allamjonov, former deputy head of the Administration responsible for public opinion and media policy.

Saida Mirziyoyeva is a graduate of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, holds master’s degrees from Tashkent State University of Law and Moscow State University, and is a candidate of economic sciences.

Previously, in 2019–2020, she was deputy director of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications and also served as deputy chair of the board of trustees of the Public Foundation for the Support and Development of National Mass Media.

The position of Head of the Administration was abolished in August 2023 during a government restructuring. Before Saida Mirziyoyeva, the role was held by Sardor Umurzakov from 2022 to 2023; he now serves as a presidential advisor for special assignments.
