Azizbek Ikramov is the new minister for emergency situations; the former one moved to the Interior Ministry

Azizbek Ikramov appointed Minister for Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan

By a presidential decree, Azizbek Israilovich Ikramov has been appointed Minister for Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan, presidential press secretary Sherzod Asadov reported. Prior to this, Ikramov’s candidacy was approved by deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis (the Parliament of Uzbekistan).

The previous minister, Botir Bahromovich Kudratkhojayev, by presidential decree and resolution, has been appointed First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan and Head of the Operational-Search Department.

Azizbek Ikramov was born on June 10, 1978, in Tashkent. From 1996 to 2000, he studied at the Higher Technical School of Fire Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. From 2000 to 2017, he served in the Main Directorate of Fire Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, holding various positions from chief specialist to deputy head of the directorate.

In 2017, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Defense for educational and ideological work and held this position until 2019.

Since 2019, he worked as in the Ministry of Internal Affairs: as Head of the Department for Spiritual and Educational Work and Personnel Support, and as Deputy Minister responsible for public order.

In July 2023, Ikramov headed the Fergana Region Department of Internal Affairs.
