On September 13, 2025, a traffic accident occurred at an unguarded railway crossing between Chortoq and Uychi stations, the press service of “O‘zbekiston temir yo‘llari” JSC reported on its Telegram channel.
The driver of a Gentra car, grossly violating traffic rules, attempted to cross the railway tracks directly in front of an approaching train.
There were six people in the car: five women and a small child. As a result of the powerful collision, none of the passengers survived.
The train crew applied emergency braking, but the tragedy could not be prevented.
The train itself sustained minor damage.
